Exploring the Coast
Summer Camp 2010
This camp is divided between the younger age group (grades K-2) and the older group (grades 3-5) to accommodate the interests and energy levels of each child. Campers will explore beaches, tide pools, museums, and ranches. Both service/volunteerism and environmental awareness will be a large part of the summer camp.
Weekly Highlights:
Week 1 Gardening Week – Kids garden from start to finish including composting tutorial, shopping for materials/seeds/soil, putting together a planter box.

Week 2 Visit to San Jose Discovery Museum

Week 3 Excursion to Frontierland Park – Wide open space to explore the great outdoors!

Week 4 Elkus Ranch – Campers get to experience the environment in a hands on approach at this Environmental Education Center.
Week 4 newsletter
Week 5 Phipps Farm – Kids will get a tour of the ranch, garden and animals, and a small basket to pick berries.

Week 6 Montara Mountain Hike – Campers hike through the Montara Mountain trails and take a picnic outdoors.
Week 7 Harley Farms tour - hands-on tour, following the milk from goat to dairy, from curd to cheese.
Week 8 Creepy Critters – presentation by WildLIFE Associates including introduction to an alligator, tarantula, and other creepy critters.
Week 9 Garden Wrap Up – campers will finish their summer gardening projects – hopefully this means flowers to pick and veggies to eat!
Week 10 California Wild – presentation by WildLIFE Associates exploring animals of California such as a porcupine, opossum, red fox, and red-tailed hawk.
CCP Summer Camp 2010 At A Glance:
- Both camps located at CCP Half Moon Bay (494 Miramontes Ave, HMB)
- Camp hours: 7am–6pm
- 10 weeks of camp starting June 14, 2010 and ending August 18, 2010
- Summer School option available
- Part time/drop-in available

Summer Sports Fun
Summer Camp 2010
Summer Sports Fun is open to all school-age children. We will teach the kids about each sport, provide a safe and nurturing team atmosphere, build on each of their starting skill levels, promote good sportsmanship, and encourage them to practice on their own!

Weekly Highlights:
Weeks 1 & 2 No Sports Camp Available
Week 3 Softball/Baseball
Week 4 Street Hockey (no skates) – Excursion to HMBHS Rink
Week 5 Soccer
Week 6 Basketball
Week 7 Golf – Excursion to HMB Driving Range
Week 8 Flag Football – Excursion to the HMBHS field
Weeks 9 & 10 No Sports Camp Available
